9 Signs You Need a Dedicated Campus Recruitment Event Solution

If you’re a large organization, hosting dozens of campus recruitment events, and making 100s or even 1000s of new hires a year…you will need your campus recruitment event solution to be robust.

Here are 9 more indicators that suggest you need a dedicated campus recruitment event solution.

1. You’re hosting 10 or more campus events per year

Once you reach this level, managing attendance, registration, and the subsequent quantities of data you’re going to amass becomes challenging… and expensive.

At this stage, you need campus recruitment event software that does more than handling basic onboarding and candidate registration. You need automated workflows, automated communication, automated scheduling, AI screening, and a whole raft of other features that will work together to massively reduce your administration, improve your efficiencies, and most importantly help you secure top talent quickly!

2. You need to know your ROI

As the number of campus recruitment events you host each year grows, the more important it becomes to be able to accurately calculate your ROI. Not just so that you can figure out which schools are providing you with the best returns, but so that you can justify the cost of your campaigns.

3. You’re not sure which events are most effective

You already know this is important, but it’s not your fault if you find it near impossible to calculate this effectively. Sometimes you’re identifying talent years in advance of their hiring, making it incredibly difficult to identify all the associated costs.

The only way to tackle this question is to have campus recruitment event software that gathers ALL the data electronically, so you can generate accurate reports and see which schools, which events, and which campaigns deliver high quality talent to your organization.

4. You’re still using paper registrations

We’re sure you left this method behind a long time ago, right? Right? Phew… just checking.

5. Follow-up is still carried out on a 1-2-1 basis

Again, this is fine and even preferable, if you’re only hosting a couple of campus recruitment events a year. However, if it’s more like a couple of events per WEEK, manual back and forth communication is impractical.

You might still engage personally with the most sought-after candidates, but for general communication you can schedule personalized messages for both email and text messaging reducing admin.

6. You don’t have mobile or app capabilities

Give the current generation of undergraduates a pen and they’ll ask you how to charge it.

Today’s youth expects to be able to do everything from their smartphone, either through a browser or a dedicated app. If you don’t have these facilities, you’re not only missing a great opportunity to cut back on your administration, you’re also looking a little out of touch.

7. You’re not sure if the security of your software is up to date

Ask any recruitment event software provider if their security is up to date and they’ll say “yes.” But how can you be sure?

When pressed they’ll usually come out with some meaningless string of letters and numbers that sounds legitimate, but don’t actually mean anything to you.

For example, Oleeo is accredited to ISO-27001 standards, which totally sounds made up, but is in fact the global standard for information security management systems, as defined by the International Organization for Standardization, based in Switzerland.

Aren’t you glad you now know that?

We’re also independently audited every six months by the British Standards Institution. Suffice to say, if you’re not sure whether your current recruitment event software is up to scratch, it’s worth checking.

8. You’re still arranging interviews via back-and-forth emails or messaging

How many times in the last month have you had to go back and forth with a candidate to arrange a suitable time for an interview, and then to provide information about travel and venue arrangements, and then to answer questions about dress code and interview preparation.

Modern campus recruitment event software can automate all of this, from allowing candidates to schedule their own interviews from a selection of days and times, to automatically sending travel and venue information (and answers to any other frequently asked questions).

Most importantly, you can put key information in your online portal so candidates can review the information as often as they need.

9. You’re reading this blog

If you’re reading this, there’s a strong likelihood that you’re either unhappy with your current campus recruitment event software, or you haven’t yet found one that you trust.

Well, kudos to you for taking the time to do your research, but there’s no need to overcomplicate it. While there are lots of feature sets to consider, and questions you’ll want to ask the vendor you’re considering, the most important, as outlined in our introduction, is whether the software is truly designed for this purpose.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with adding some extra capabilities to an existing ATS software to make it more versatile. But if you’re a large organization with specific requirements around campus event recruitment, this clearly – as, hopefully, this blog proves – isn’t going to be sufficient for your needs.

There’s no need to settle. Campus Recruitment Event Software, capable of managing every element of your events and campaigns, is readily available and is going to be a game-changer for improving every aspect of your hiring processes.
