Data automation in recruiting a priority for 72% of companies

New Aptitude Research study finds Talent Acquisition leaders are turning to Recruiting Enablement to achieve better quality of hire

LONDON, UK and NEW YORK, NY – May 18, 2020 – A growing number of HR and Talent Acquisition leaders are looking to apply data-driven Recruiting Enablement technology to meet the needs of the business and the changing expectations of candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers, according to a recent report by Aptitude Research sponsored by Oleeo, the innovation leader in Recruiting Enablement technology.

Based on research conducted in February and March 2020, the report, Improving Quality of Hire through Recruiting Enablement, finds that companies that use data to automate decision-making are twice as likely to improve quality of hire. However, Talent Acquisition has a ways to go: while 72% of enterprise companies believe that using data to automate recruiting decisions is a priority in 2020, only 32% of senior leaders are confident in the data that they have available to make decisions.

Madeline Laurano, Founder of Aptitude Research, comments: “Companies are facing intense pressure to more accurately identify and measure quality of hire. While quality of hire is certainly not a new concern, the responsibility has shifted from hiring managers to HR and talent acquisition leaders. As a result, talent acquisition leaders are being held accountable for what happens beyond when a candidate accepts an offer. Candidates often make a decision to join an employer solely on their interaction with a recruiting team during the talent acquisition process. If the recruiting process is automated, it gives candidates a more consistent and meaningful experience.”

Defining Recruiting Enablement

Recruiting Enablement technology, as outlined in the study, leverages data and automation throughout the entire candidate experience and provides intelligent workflows to move the right candidates along in the process in a more effective way. Recruitment Enablement is successful when it is used throughout the entire process, from attracting talent to onboarding.

Lifting the Administrative Burden

Today’s global pandemic has brought a state of uncertainty that requires companies to be more efficient. In Talent Acquisition, Recruiting Enablement helps to reduce administrative workload on recruiters, allowing them to focus their time on higher value work. Examples shared in the study include:

  • Managing high volumes of applicants: Recruiting Enablement can help to automate workflows and move large volumes of applicants through the process, while using data to root out bias and to fast-track top candidates.
  • Diversity and inclusion: Recruiting Enablement can help to de-bias job descriptions to attract more gender-diverse candidates, and automate candidate engagement activities, such as sharing the right content with the right candidates at the right time.
  • Interview management: Recruiting Enablement can automate interview scheduling, saving recruiters an average of 16 hours a week.
